10 Great Recession Proof Businesses

by Curtis D. Tucker

The recession is here and many hard working people are losing their jobs. This is not a time to feel glum and wonder where your next job might be. This is the time to become an entrepreneur and start your own thriving business!

Control your own destiny and earn as much money as you possibly can. A recession can be a great time to start a new business. Many people that would never go out on their own are now being forced to find other avenues of income. Even if you have job you might want to consider starting one of these businesses on the side. You never know when "the man" might let you go.

These are just ideas to get you started. I will try to come back soon with more detail on how to start many of these business ventures.

1. Residential and commercial cleaning. Individuals and businesses need their stuff cleaned. We currently have a housekeeper that drives a nicer car than I do. Hook up with some small businesses or a network of households. A well organized, reliable cleaning service will attract great viral marketing and can grow very quickly.

2. Professional organizer. This is not about straightening a closet. This is like being a personal assistant. Help busy people take care of their dry cleaning, shopping and bill paying. Set up a schedule to meet with several clients a week and work out a system to help them stay on schedule and get things done.

3. Home improvement. This is a great business and an easy start up. Most everyone needs a fence fixed, a faucet washer replaced or a room painted. Get the word out that you do handy man jobs and your business will grow into a full blown home improvement company in no time.

4. IT services. If you know a bit about computers your skills are needed! I don't know how many times I am asked to help people set up their email accounts. Help people hook up their computers, teach companies how to network their computers and even teach a class on how to surf the Internet.

5. House or pet sitting. If you are reliable and honest you can make money just house sitting. This is a great part-time job and especially works for singles. Get the word out to family ad friends and start your business today!

6. Second-hand goods. Find a really inexpensive location and sell used merchandise. The more unique your items the more word will spread. Keep your inventory changing and you'll have many return shoppers. Auctions, garage sales and eBay are great locations to find second-hand goods.

7. eBay seller. Expand on the idea above and sell on eBay. Although eBay is not what it once was it is still a viable place to start a niche business. Find a product you are passionate about and you should do fine. Create an easy to follow procedure for packaging and shipping and things should run like clock work.

8. Secretarial services. Many individuals now have a computer, printer and e-mail – which makes a perfect situation to help businesses with typing, newsletter writing and many other small office projects. This is a job you can do at home and send everything electronically.

9. Tutoring. If you know something about something this can be a great job for you. Teach students and prepare them for college or teach adults that are lacking in certain business skills. The door is wide open and you can pick your own niche.

10. Web design. If you know the slightest thing about web design you should be able to start your own business. The majority of companies in the U.S. still do not have their own websites! Help businesses create simple brochure websites and charge for updates. Learning HTML is not that difficult and this is a great home based business.

Start your business today! Just talking about it won't get it done. Immediately go to Google and start researching your business idea. Come up with a name for your company before the end of the day. When you wake up tomorrow you'll be enthused and you'll know that you now control your own destiny.

Good luck!

Start A Music Teaching Studio

by Curtis D. Tucker

Turn your musical talents into profit. If play an instrument you could easily turn those talents into a teaching opportunity. Teaching kids can be very profitable and very rewarding.

Begin by advertising to parents and posting ads at schools and recreational locations. Start with one student have them spread the word for you. Viral marketing in this business could save you from having to spend any marketing money at all.

Possible costs involved would be the instruments, music books, rent and advertising. Teach your students the history of their instrument, how to hold it, how to clean it, how to tune and how to play. If you don't think you are an expert on your instrument just teach beginner classes.

What if you don't have a musical bone in your body? Be an entrepreneur! Start your own studio by bringing talented musicians together with interested clients. You provide or rent the studio space and market the business while studio musicians come in to teach your students.

Advertise for both musicians and people looking for lessons. Once you have enough interest you can start matching the two together. Your studio could be unique because it could be teaching lessons on multiple instruments.

You could also advertise online, start a blog and even teach with podcasts. You could use YouTube to display videos of you playing or teaching and market those to your client base.

You could also research and teach young bands how to become better bands. Teach them the business side of being a musician and help them learn the ins and outs of travel, set up and booking the right gigs. You could even become a part time manager/promoter.

You might even start a local service brokering lessons. You could build a system that brings teachers with students and charge a nominal fee. Think outside of the box! The Internet has opened new doors never even imagined before. Use every resource at your disposal and create your own great music business.

Make Money With Google AdSense

by Curtis D. Tucker

Welcome to the website fellow entrepreneurs! I'm glad you found me and I hope in some small way I can help you create your future and become this countries next entrepreneur.

I'm going to start out with a quick and easy idea. This money earning system, once created, becomes a cash cow that continues to earn money while you move on to other things or go on vacation. It involves buying a domain name, finding a web host and learning to create a simple website or blog.

The system is called Google AdSense. I use it to create almost one half of my yearly income so I know it can work. It does take effort, time and hours of trial and error. But once perfected it is an awesome supplement to any online entrepreneurs career.

In the simplest terms you earn money by creating a website that generates a good amount of traffic. 1,000-6,000 unique visitors a day would be a good amount of traffic. The secret is to create a website that is built on keywords that are being searched for but do not have so much competition that you do not stand a chance of reaching the top spot in the search engines.

From my experience, my research and seeing the stats of fellow AdSense publishers I would say that you can earn about $100 a day for every 20,000 page views you get. That's an average. A limited number of publishers earn tens of thousands of dollars a month with Google AdSense.

Once you have an idea you build a website around your keywords. You then begin to fill that website with as much great content as you can. All of the content should relate to the keywords chosen. Generate as many pages as possible and add new pages every week.

As soon as your site is up and running you will want to open a free Google AdSense account. Google will supply you with a code to place on your website. Place this code on every page of your site. Immediately your site will begin to display small text ads that relate directly to your keywords.

Each time a visitor to your site clicks on one of these ads you earn money. The amount will depend on the keyword targeted and the budget of the business buying the ad. The average click can range from one penny to $6. Every month Google will send you a check for the total you have earned.

After creating your first money making site, start again and create another. The key to making big bucks is to create as many of these content rich websites as you can. Some will fail and others will only earn a few bucks a month. The combination of many sites will begin to earn you real revenue.

There is an entire industry built on teaching you how to earn Google AdSense money. Read as much as you can online and keep after it! I will post more AdSense tips from time to time.
